Lea Karnutsch studied contemporary and classical dance at the Music and Arts University of the city of Vienna. As a dancer she already worked at Theater an der Wien and Kultursommer Wien. She was invited to show her own choreographies at DOCK11 in Berlin, CerModern in Ankara and at the Stadttheater Augsburg. 2019 she received the „Austrian Art Award“, head of jury Christian Ludwig Attersee, for her own creation „Vacuity“. Besides her work with national and international choreographers like Nikolaus Adler, Liz King and Lorena Randi, she is currently studying in the masters programm "music and dance studies" in Salzburg. Since the beginning of 2021 Lea Karnutsch started an ongoing collaboration with the media artist and musician Ferdinand Doblhammer. Together they are developing and researching new and innovative forms of stage performances with the aim of merging dance, music, digital art and installation. They also founded the collective „Flip the Coin“.
